Strategic Planning and Prioritization

CPG · 2024

The Challenge

Across the Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Team in a company, strategic priorities were fragmented across areas, creating a gap between leadership direction and day-to-day execution. Scattered objectives, inconsistent metrics, and limited cross-team coordination made it difficult to identify shared priorities and track progress against a common strategy. PACS needed a more integrated approach to planning, one that connected teams around clear objectives, measurable results, and shared accountability.

The Outcome

PACS moved from fragmented planning to an integrated strategy that aligned priorities across areas and established a clearer framework for execution. By consolidating initially siloed priorities, we streamlined planning, clarified shared objectives, and strengthened cross-functional accountability through measurable key results and a centralized dashboard.

How We Made It Tangible

1

Connecting Priorities Across Areas

Through two collaborative workshops with leaders from across PACS, we mapped existing priorities, identified synergies, and aligned top-down strategic direction with bottom-up execution needs.

2

Turning Priorities into Shared Commitments

Teams co-created partnership agreements and focused the strategy around 12 objectives and 20 key results, establishing a common understanding of priorities, responsibilities, and expected outcomes.

3

Embedding Accountability into Execution

We translated the strategy into an integrated dashboard with 39 supporting KPIs and a tracking plan, giving teams a shared tool to monitor progress, reinforce accountability, and keep execution aligned.
